What are Retaining Walls?

Retaining walls are manufactured to support the slopes, patios, and walls with tilted textures. As the name reveals, precast retaining walls help the patio and walls against lateral gravity pressure. These walls are the most suitable solution to soil erosion and other landscaping issues. It not only provides architectural support from lateral gravity pressure but also looks beguiling.
AFTEC specializes in engineering a wide range of retaining walls including, sheet piled, gravity and cantilever. Moreover, the mesmerizing textures adds up to its beauty as well.
Concrete Retaining Wall Blocks
AFTEC specializes in manufacturing a colossal range of retaining walls. These walls are made of concrete blocks with versatile finishes. These walls are specially designed to provide reasonable support to small and medium slopes of soils ranging up to 12ft. Besides, we manufacture concrete retaining walls all across Ohio including, Columbus, Cleveland, Cincinnati, and Dayton. We manufacture concrete retaining walls for observable places to enhance their durability.
Types of Retaining Walls
AFTEC engineer a huge range of retaining walls to provide architectural support to medium soil slopes up to 12 ft. these walls are manufactured strong and sturdy by using rigid-footing techniques and reinforcements. These are the major types of retaining walls widely used in Ohio.

Gravity
Gravity retaining walls are manufactured using large blocks or boulders of precast concrete. These walls use the weight of concrete blocks to withstand the gravity pressure from the other side. High-tech techniques and reinforcements are used to make these walls harder and durable.
Masonry
Masonry retaining walls indicate that masonry units (CMU block walls) are employed to construct the retaining wall. Brick masonry concrete retaining walls use standard 8” x 4” x 2.25” size kiln-fired bricks and mortar. They are also frequently strengthened with steel to increase the lifespan of the retaining wall.
Sheet Piled
The sheet piled retaining walls are perfect for soft soils and compact places. These walls can be manufactured using various materials including, plastic planks, vinyl, steel, wooden planks, vinyl, and fiberglass.
Sheet piled retaining walls are hammered at least 2/3 the elevation of the wall into ground.
Cantilever
Masonry reinforced or precast concrete with steel are used to engineer cantilever retaining walls. These walls transfer horizontal pressure to the vertical side using strong structural foothold.
