What are Retaining Walls?

Landscape retaining walls are made of retaining wall blocks made of different materials. The function of retaining walls is to provide support to the upright walls and slope soils against the lateral pressure of the gravity. Precast retaining walls provide architectural support to the walls against lateral gravity pressure and protect them from erosion and landscaping.
AFTEC has engineered several types of retaining walls including, sheet-piled, gravity, and cantilever using numerous finishes, textures, and designs to add versatility.
Concrete Retaining Wall Blocks
We manufacture concrete retaining walls using fabulously designed concrete blocks on observable surfaces using various architectural patterns.
We use large retaining wall blocks to retain small to medium walls up to 12ft from one to the other level of the earth. We also install precast barriers and fence on top of the slopes and walls where required. We are providing retaining wall installation services in Georgia.
Types of Retaining Walls
AFTEC specializes in manufacturing Various types of retaining walls according to the customer’s requirements. We provide large precast concrete retaining wall blocks to retain small to medium walls up to 12ft. our services are available in most areas of Georgia including, Atlanta, Savannah, Augusta, and Macon.
These are some of the most prominent types of retaining walls.

Cantilever
Cantilever is a contemporary type of retaining wall manufactured by concrete and masonry with steel to form cantilever blocks. Cantilever transform lateral gravity pressure in the vertical direction to cancel its effect. These blocks provide a strong structural foothold to retain large slopes durably.
Masonry
CMU block walls are masonry units that are used to construct retaining walls. Generally, 8” x4” x2.25” size kiln-fired brick and mortar are used. They are commonly incorporated with steel to increase its durability and lifespan.
Sheet Piled
Sheet piled retaining walls are manufactured using different materials such as vinyl, plastic planks, fiberglass, wooden planks, and steel. To enhance the strength of sheet piled walls they must be hammered at least two-third the slope of the wall into the ground.
Gravity
Gravity retaining walls are build using rigid-footing techniques to elevate their durability. These walls are engineered with large concrete blocks. The walls get support from the weight of concrete blocks to withstand the lateral pressure of gravity.
AFTEC manufacture and install customized retaining walls using different finishes. Decorative assents designs and textures to increase its versatility. And these walls are durable enough to bear heavy pressure of gravity without showing any sign of wear and tear.
