10 Ways Our Competitor’s Concrete Walls are Scarier than Dating Taylor Swift
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve probably heard of the country-rooted tunes of Taylor Swift. And while her golden tresses and red lips might be appealing, her reputed obsession with her cats and man-eating tendencies are not nearly as adorable. But you know what’s even scarier than the chanteuse and her rabid fan army? Our competitors’ concrete fence walls. Instead of using top-of-the-line technology, they use second-rate materials and construction techniques that don’t ensure the highest quality, or greatest durability.
Our walls, on the other hand? Well, AFTEC continually strives to be on the cutting edge of efficiency and innovation of design with concrete fencing forms, forming equipment and concrete fence wall systems. AFTEC has obtained patents, and has patents pending, for several claims of intellectual property for special concrete precast wall technology used in our products. Take a look at how our walls stack up to the competition.
Competitor Concrete Must Have Continuous Footings
We utilize a Rigid Footing System. Pier footings are placed every 15 feet on center, and 4-inch steel I-beams are embedded into the footings. This means we can dodge underground utilities and meet a wide variety of site conditions, including retention walls.
Our competitors use a thin metal rebar supports, meaning their walls are:
- More prone to falling over during heavy winds
- Less safe in hurricane conditions
- Not as structurally sound overall
Long story short: Our walls are stronger and more flexible than competitors’.
Competitor Concrete Walls Require Bracing
While our competitors’ walls could fall over during installation if they aren’t properly braced, ours won’t. Unique among precast wall systems, this provides the absolute safest working environment throughout the manufacturing and installation process, and results in the most stable and fastest installation.

Competitor Concrete Requires Grouting
Many competitor concrete wall systems require grouting in the rebar support, and curing before walls are strong and stable. Our walls, on the other hand, do not require grouting of columns and footings. This saves time, which equates to money, and results in an overall faster and stronger installation.
Competitor Concrete Fence Walls Need to Be Manually Aligned
Whereas our walls are aligned and plumbed during the footing construction process, competitor varieties must be aligned manually; wasting time and money. All sections of our walls self-align against the steel I-Beams as they are set in place, increasing speed and safety of installation.
Competitors Form Wall Sections and Columns Separately
Our competitors slow installation time by forming the wall and then the column post separately, and that translates into higher costs. Our unique Combo-Cast™ Panel System, forms both the column and the fence panel at the same time, thereby reducing time and money required to complete the same amount of work.
Competitors Texture Only One Side of the Wall
Our walls, on the other hand, are cast vertically which creates a formed finish on BOTH sides of the wall. They are also highly defined and very realistic replicas of various types of stone (with 10 texture types!), and colored using a variety of methods, including colored concrete sealers and stains to create limitless number of color options.
Competitor Wall Panels Are Shorter
Most competitor’s cast their concrete walls to be about 12 feet long. AFTEC concrete walls are 15 feet long. This means our competitors requires more fence columns to cover the same amount of space, again, increasing costs and installation time.
Competitor Area Requires Double the Space On-Site
This is a huge time and money sink clearing up all that space. Whereas our single forming system unit takes up only 450 square foot, our competitors require two separate systems for casting panels and columns. (Honestly, this is even worse than the amount of real estate Taylor Swift requires for her cat.) Plus, you have to make room for all the employees required to operate multiple casting machines.
Competitors Require Special Shipping Racks
Competitors require A-frame racks to support panels during shipping. This can attribute to higher expenses and logistical issues when using a contract trucking service. AFTEC walls don’t require any type of special rack to support the concrete during transportation.
Repair is Slower and More Expensive
Competitors require A-frames to support panels during shipping, creating expense and logistical issues when using a contract trucking service. With AFTEC walls, each section can be removed without damaging the footing, creating a 15-foot opening – advantageous for sites with sensitive equipment. Plus all liners are interchangeable, requiring approximately 3 hours to completely change the design. Our competitors don’t have interchangeable liners as they are laminated to the dividers, and they can make an 11-foot opening at best because the column is grouted to the footing.
